“Renascer” is a Brazilian soap opera that will premiere on Globo at nine o’clock in the first half of 2024, replacing “Terra e Paixão”. Remake of the 1993 soap opera directed by Benedito Ruy Barbosa. The new version was written by his grandson Bruno Luperi.
Marcos Palmeira will play Colonel José Inocêncio, a role played by Antonio Fagundes in the original. Juan Paiva, Rodrigo Simas, Humberto Carrão, Sophie Charlotte, Xamã, Almir Sater and Juliana Paes are also said to be in the cast.
The main story of “Renascer” revolves around José Inocêncio, a farmer from Ilhéus, Bahia, in charge of the cocoa cultivation, husband of Maria Santa and father of four children (José Augusto, José Bento, José Venâncio and João Pedro).
When the youngest child is born, José Inocêncio finally loses his wife. Some time later, the farmer married Mariana, his son João Pedro’s girlfriend at the time. The young woman, in turn, is the granddaughter of Belarmino, José Inocêncio’s greatest rival.
There is another feud between José and Teodoro, the father of Sandra, João Pedro’s future wife. The plot also brings together eccentric collector Tião Galinha, who attributes Inocêncio’s professional success to a possible pact with the devil.
