There is the command of the Chechen troops taking part in the siege of Mariupol Ruslan Geremeyev, who is suspected of involvement in the assassination of Boris Nemtsov, former Deputy Prime Minister of Boris Yeltsin and antagonist of Vladimir Putin, who was assassinated in Moscow in 2015. This was noted in a video of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov recorded by Meduza. Nemtsov was shot dead 200 meters from the Kremlin wall in February 2015 the next day when he was scheduled to lead a demonstration against Russian military intervention in eastern Ukraine.

Geremeyev, 43, is a major in the Northern Battalion. Chechen leader Kadyrov has spread a series of fake news in recent days, including his presence on the outskirts of Kyiv. In case of doubt, the message must be recorded. But there is a video that seems reliable.
In the video we see how Geremeyev, together with his men, all in combat uniform, lead the morning prayer. He is later shown participating in what appear to be field operations and then perhaps the ensuing celebrations when he reaches the objective.
