One of the most successful boy bands of all time could be getting back together soon.

According to Entertainment Tonight, NSYNC and its five original members – Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake – are reuniting for roles in the third Trolls movie.

The group, who were extremely successful as a five-piece from 1995 to 2004, are expected to release a new single for Trolls Band Together, which would be their first song together since Girlfriend (2001).

Timberlake provided the voice of the character Branch in the first two installments of the franchise films: Trolls (2016) and Trolls World Tour (2020), and he is also back for the new installment, which is expected to be released in November.

The trailer for the animated film offers several clues about the NYSYC Timberlake reunion, including that Branch and his four brothers were said to have been in a group together called the BroZone.

In the teaser scene, one of the brothers, Floyd (Sivan), is kidnapped and then John tracks down Dory (André) Branch to reunite the group and rescue their brother.

The dialogue hints at the reunion, using clever puns and several references to the group and other popular boy bands of the same era.

“Branch, we’re out of sync,” Floyd is heard saying to his brother in a flashback in the trailer. “We’ve gone from boys to men, and now there’s only one direction for us: into the backyards.”

Then the character of John Dory jumps in: “Branch, it’s time we found the rest of our brothers and get the band back together,” leading to all five brothers proclaiming in unison, “Bro time.”

In addition to Timberlake and the four brothers, the cast also includes Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, RuPaul, Amy Schumer, Andrew Rannells and Zosia Mamet.

So far, Universal Pictures has not confirmed what role NSYNC will play in the film or if they will actually contribute a song to the soundtrack.

NSYNC last recorded new material in 2002 before going on an indefinite hiatus. During the hiatus, Timberlake announced his departure from the group in 2004 following the success of his debut solo album, Justified.

The group continued as a four-piece without Timberlake until officially disbanding in 2007.
