Bruno tells the maids that as long as they treat Luana well, they can stay. Julia continues to speak badly of Luana and she listens. Lia asks her father if Léia will be at the altar with Marcos. Dimas takes Luana to the hairdresser, but she asks him to come back. Lia calls Léia, who has a black eye. She says she can’t go to the wedding. Ralf bangs on the phone and apologizes to Léia. Léia says that if she is attacked again, she will leave him. Geremias shows Chief Valdir the check with the ticket and they talk about Otávio, Olegário’s son. Marieta breaks up with Fausto, saying Olegário has given up on him. Fausto tells Marieta that he doesn’t believe she is Bruno Berdinazzi’s granddaughter. Valdir and Geremias. The delegate says it’s easy to forge birth certificates. Lia tells Marcos that Léia declined the wedding invitation. He decides to look for his mother. Luana comes in disguise and Marcos spoils the mood by being rude. Bruno comforts Luana and covers her with kisses. Geremias thinks about looking for Olegário’s son. Valdir asks Fausto if he is Marieta’s lover. Bruno tells Luana that there is no way Léia will return home. Regino comments that the army donated land to the landless. Marcos visits Léia and sees his mother’s black eye. Léia lies to her son that the injury was from a car accident. Marcos tells Léia that his father lives with Luana. Léia decides to go to Marcos’ wedding to meet Luana. Judite asks Marieta why she always sees Fausto secretly and she replies that she wants to get rid of Fausto. Judite realizes that Marieta liked Marcos. Alone, Marcos thinks about how not to get married, how to get his inheritance back and how to conquer Marieta. Lia tries to reassure Rosa about the wedding and Liliana is happy. Marcos tells his father that Léia has a black eye and that he told her about Luana. Ralf convinces Léia to sell the yacht and she tells him that she is going to her son’s wedding.

Friday, December 30th
Léia says she is going to the wedding to meet Bruno’s lover. Luana regrets going to Ribeirão and tells Bruno that she doesn’t want to go to the wedding. Bruno guarantees that he is not ashamed of her. Geremias tells Marieta that he will call a lawyer to draw up his will. She asks her uncle to fire Fausto. Valdir tells Fausto that Olegário must have known something to have been murdered. The police chief gives the green light for Fausto to be Marieta’s boyfriend. Marieta asks her uncle to free her from Fausto. Luana tries to read and Lia teases her, but Luana doesn’t bow her head. Lia tells Aparício that she will reveal to her father that they love each other. Aparício tells Lia that Bruno would never agree to the relationship. The senator tells Mezenga that he wants to be reelected unaided. Zé Bentão worries about Lia and Aparício’s relationship. Caxias is introduced to Luana and asks if she is a teacher. Luana says she used to cut sugar cane. Outraged at being traded for a buoy and a cold, Léia plans to cause a scandal at Marcos’ wedding. Rosa bothers her husband for being too honest, but they make up and go on a date. Luana tells Bruno that Regino once owned land but lost it to the bank. The Banco do Brasil donates land to the landless and Regino hopes to return to the land that belonged to his father. Marcos complains about the pomp of his wedding. Marcos tells Lia that he doesn’t want to get married and feels like he’s going to the slaughterhouse. Lurdinha shows interest in Zé Bentão. On the phone, Léia says she will take Ralf to the wedding and Bruno fears Marco’s reaction. Bruno calls the President, who confirms his presence at the wedding. Lia warns her father that it would be better to cancel the party. Ralf insists on going to the wedding, but Leia steadfastly claims he wasn’t invited. Lia urges Marcos to confront his father headon, saying he doesn’t want to get married but doesn’t have the guts. He comments that if he finds out he’s hitting his mother, he’ll kill Ralf. Lia warns her father that Marcos doesn’t want to get married. Distracted, Marieta talks about her childhood in Italy and strange Geremias.
