Obstacles: Montrealers have to be patient on the long weekend –

The Labor Day long weekend is fast approaching, but workers will still be at road construction sites across the Montreal area, forcing drivers to plan their trips.

Due to numerous closures, Montrealers may be forced to take several detours in the areas of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge, the Saint-Pierre interchange and Highway 13.

Therefore, the Honoré-Mercier Bridge towards Montreal will remain closed from 1 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Traffic will therefore move in the opposite direction on the bridge towards the south bank.

On the Saint-Pierre interchange side, motorists have to take a detour due to the closure of the slip road from the R-138 East to the A-20 for the entire weekend, ie from 1 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Additionally, two out of three lanes will be closed on Route 138 between Clément Street and the interchange from 7 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday, causing delays.

There will also be construction on Highway 13 in Laval when there will be a full closure between the Samson and Notre-Dame Boulevard exits and the next exit at the Louis Bisson Bridge from 11 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Traffic will take place on the access road. A partial closure (two of three lanes) between Samson and Notre-Dame boulevards could also cause delays.

Finally, the A-40 motorway will be completely closed on the nights of Friday to Monday between the Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants exit, the A-20 westbound and the next entrance to Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
