Ocean Alley keyboardist Lachlan Galbraith apologizes after being caught on CCTV shoplifting $17.95 from a New Zealand store – after buying a $2.35 million Byron Bay home

Lachlan Galbraith has apologized sincerely after being caught stealing from a sporting goods store.

The Ocean Alley keyboardist picked up a $17.95 bottle cap from the Hunting and Fishing store in Queenstown, New Zealand, and was caught in the act on CCTV.

“Nice to see the boys in town tonight for their performance @rhythmandalps…” “Unfortunately it looks like there was a little too much 'Confidence' in the store today,” the store said in an Instagram post, which has since been deleted.

“We know hydration is important so don't worry, but feel free to return the @yeti_nzl Chug Cup before you head out of town tomorrow.”

After being publicly confronted by the store who shared a photo of the CCTV footage, Lachlan posted an apology on his band's Instagram page.

“Yesterday, in an act of complete stupidity, I stole a drinks bottle cap from Queenstown Hunting and Fishing,” he said in the clip.

“It's a moment that I'm not proud of and one that I deeply regret and regret.” I apologized directly to the team at the store and we remedied the situation.

“I'm sorry that we disappointed our fans, the store and of course the band.” “My actions do not reflect the way we behave as a band.”

It is understood either Lachlan or his team returned to the store to pay for the stolen item.

This came after the six members of Ocean Alley purchased a rural property near Byron Bay on the far north coast of New South Wales.

The Happy Sad hitmakers bought the seven-bedroom, five-bathroom ranch-style property in Middle Pocket for $2.35 million, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The eight-hectare tropical retreat is located in the Northern Rivers region, approximately 22km inland from the town of Byron Bay.
