Odell Beckham Jr. joins Ravens: Star WR agrees to one-year deal worth up to $18 million – CBS Sports

The Baltimore Ravens reportedly offered star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. a contract last week and it seems he was impressed by the numbers. The Ravens announced that OBJ has agreed to a signing one year contract, one valued at up to $18 million, confirms CBS Sports NFL insider Josina Anderson. The new deal allegedly included a signing bonus of $13.835 million, a base salary of $1.165 million and $3 million in incentives.

Beckham tells Josina Anderson recently that he “felt more love from the Ravens” despite visiting with the New York Jets on Monday. He posted this on his Instagram on Sunday, confirming that he is joining the Ravens.

The 30-year-old wideout took the 2022 season off after tearing his cruciate ligament in Super Bowl LVI. He was quite a valuable addition to the Los Angeles Rams midseason, catching 27 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight games for the club en route to their Super Bowl title.

Anderson reports that Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti communicated frequently with Beckham and gave him the idea to come to Baltimore, the support he would have from the team and the need to also help with Lamar Jackson to balance things .

As new offensive coordinator Todd Monken scores a fresh wideout for his new offense, the Lamar angle is also important to note. The star quarterback announced last month that he had officially requested a trade from the organization after receiving the non-exclusive franchise tag. However, NFL media reported just last week that the team stayed in touch with Jackson. It’s a move that certainly shows the former NFL MVP that the Ravens are serious about not only keeping their franchise quarterback, but fighting for it.

Ranked No. 12 for the New York Giants in 2014, Beckham burst onto the scene as a rookie, catching 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first NFL season. In his sophomore season, he upped his own ante, recording 96 receptions for 1,450 yards and 13 touchdowns. After five seasons, OBJ was traded to the Cleveland Browns, where he played two and a half seasons.

The Jets appeared to be favorites to land OBJ with the imminent addition of Aaron Rodgers. ESPN even reported that both sides would like to realize a possible marriage. However, Beckham decided to cancel the official visit scheduled for this week.
