The Poco (Xiaomi) brand, specialized in entry-level smartphones, is back today with the Poco M4 Pro. A 5G device that does not lack advantages and that is determined to become a benchmark in this price segment in 2022.

The Poco M4 Pro is an affordable and pleasant-to-use smartphone. It has a good LCD screen – once calibrated – and a very decent battery life. Its chip allows for a smooth multitasking experience, but it quickly shows its limitations when it comes to video games. Photo performance is limited, but suitable for occasional use in good light conditions. The competition is serious, but this Poco M4 Pro remains a solid choice around €200.

strong points

  • Good build quality.
  • Good LCD screen (calibrated once).
  • Efficient multitasking SoC.
  • Very good battery life and relatively fast charging.

weak points

  • No waterproof certification.
  • Not really made for gaming.
  • Failed night photos.
  • Somewhat messy interface.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices requested by all retailers for the product in the last month, with security rules to exclude prices from stores whose VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically with imports from China).

alternative

After a half-hearted Note 10 series, Xiaomi recovers with this Redmi Note 11. The entry-level smartphone from the Chinese company is a good offer for those who need a terminal that can do everything without necessarily being overwhelming. Without performing miracles, this model corrects a passable photo share of the predecessor and offers a good Oled panel. Finally, its autonomy at 60 Hz or 90 Hz is very correct.
