Our people learned with deep regret of the death of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. For this reason, the President of the Republic of Cuba decreed an OFFICIAL DUEL on December 18th from 6:00 a.m. to midnight.

During his term as Emir of this country between 2020 and 2023, he contributed to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between both countries.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez regretted this Saturday the death of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, at the age of 86.

According to Kuna News Agency, the government of Kuwait expressed its pain and sadness over the death of the emir, who was honored for his long and illustrious career.

Likewise, Kuwaiti authorities announced 40 days of national mourning in addition to a three-day holiday. The country's flag remains at half-mast, the source said.

The emir, who has ruled the country for the past three years, was hospitalized at the end of November, according to international media.
