The official trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was released by Warner Bros. on Sunday.
In a preview of the highly anticipated action film, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry return for the fifth installment of the MonsterVerse and encounter a fearsome, undiscovered monster.
The duo watches as the two epic monsters join forces once again to face and fight the Skar King, who threatens to wipe out the existence of not only all Titans, but the entire planet.
According to the synopsis, the action-packed film will “delve deeper into the history of these Titans, their origins and the secrets of Skull Island and beyond.”
They will reprise their roles alongside Kaylee Hottle:[uncover] the mythical struggle that helped create these extraordinary beings and forever bind them to humanity.”

The trailer begins with a seismometer measuring earthquake waves, and the readings start to go off the charts.
As a groundbreaking earthquake worsens beneath the pyramids in Egypt, Hall, as Dr. Ilene Andrews has a foreboding thought.
“For most of human civilization, we believed that life could only exist on the surface of our planet. What else were we wrong about?’
The scene then shows the Hollow Earth, where monsters roam freely beneath the planet’s surface.
The scientist is accompanied by franchise newcomer Dan Stevens, who, in the role of Stephen Randa, follows and observes Kong in his natural habitat.
“This world holds more secrets than we can imagine,” she says.
Kong encounters a larger version of himself emerging from the mist, but the monster turns out to be a much smaller and almost enchanting version of the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Then the two scientists come across a huge bloody handprint in the wilderness, the likes of which they have never seen before.

At one point in the trailer, Kong comes across a massive, looming figure emerging from the fog
It turns out it’s just an exaggerated shadow of a mini-Kong
Elsewhere on the island, the two scientists discover a gigantic bloody handprint and suspect it is from a never-before-seen monster much larger than Kong
They realize that Kong is once again facing a massive threat and must team up with the other epic titan, Godzilla, to defeat the monster
Kong discovers a cave where he finds the skulls of his own fallen soldiers
Deep in the crater you see a monster much larger than other giant apes leading a tribe
The trailer shows the Skar King leading the monster and attempting to wipe out the existence of the other Titans and the rest of the world
The extraordinary creature appears on land and begins to threaten the much smaller people
According to the synopsis, the film also delves into the history of the Titans and explores more about how their world came to coexist with humanity
The two epic monsters team up once again to take on their new enemy

“That’s not Kong,” Andrews says, trying to hide the look of fear on her face.
Then we see Kong fall into a crater even deeper than the Hollow Earth, where he finds a majestic sight made of neon crystals, but also the skulls of his own fallen ones.
It turns out that deep within the land lives a tribe of giant apes like Kong himself, led by a menacing, gigantic monster.
Henry as the character Bernie Hayes also finds Hottle as Jia – who has now become a member of a tribute of people living somewhere else in the mystical land.
“Kong can’t stop this alone,” Randa’s voice can be heard saying, defeated.
“He won’t be alone,” Andrew explains in an audio clip in which a never-before-seen Godzilla with magenta spikes awakens from hibernation after hiding beneath a frozen tundra.
While danger threatens in the hollow earth and also above the surface in large cities, the pink Godzilla wakes up and joins Kong in the fight to defeat the boss monster.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is scheduled to hit theaters on April 12, 2024.
