Ohio State wins Battle for Bowl Week contest over Georgia 4-1 – Eleven Warriors

Ohio State destroyed Georgia #1.

Well…at least in the Battle for Bowl Week competition. The Buckeyes won four of five team activities during the week against the Bulldogs to earn the Bowl Week Championship belt by winning the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” basketball, bowling and Andretti indoor karting competitions. won.

But hey, the team that wins the Battle for Bowl Week competition has won seven of the last 11 Peach Bowls, so it’s something, right?

The Buckeyes lost their only event of the competition on Monday when four offensive players, four defensive players and two assistant coaches from both teams competed in “Football Feud,” a suitably twisted game on the popular game show Family Feud. OSU bounced back later that night by winning the Drop It Like It’s Hot event, where teams were shown multiple choice questions and given 15 seconds to debate. They were allotted a fixed number of points to put on each answer. One by one, incorrect answers fell off the screen along with any points they had placed on that answer. OSU won 1,500-1,000.

Remember when CJ Stroud said Ohio State football team could beat the basketball team at a basketball game at the Big Ten Media Days in July? Well, Ohio State basketball players certainly didn’t agree with his assessment. But could they beat the Georgia soccer team in a basketball game? They already made it in a basketball hot-shot challenge on Wednesday night. Select players had a 45-second window to take as many free throws as possible, and the Buckeyes won the contest 140-123. Not surprisingly, Stroud was one of the Buckeyes’ representatives, along with former high school basketball players Cade Stover and JT Tuimoloau.

Cade Stover was among the Ohio State players who competed in Wednesday's basketball competition.

OSU won the competition by winning the Andretti Bowling competition that same night, with each team selecting two players for the competition. The Buckeyes won the event 416-378. Ohio State capped off the night in style by winning the final event, Andretti Indoor Karting. The average lap time of each team was totaled and the team with the fastest average time was declared the winner. OSU beat Georgia by three-tenths of a second for fastest average lap time.

The Buckeyes will now look to beat Georgia in the contest that really counts when they take on the Bulldogs on the soccer field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday at 8 p.m.
