Oil and gas of Russia: Vladimir Putin will not turn off the tap

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, March 10, stressed that his country supports all its hydrocarbon supplies, despite the conflict in Ukraine and Western sanctions.

“We comply with all our obligations on the supply of energy carriers,” he stressed at a government meeting.

He assured that “all volumes” are supplied to Europe, as elsewhere, assuring that even “Ukraine’s gas transportation system is 100% full.”

The Ukrainian gas pipeline network is one of the key supply arteries of the European continent, of which 45% of gas imports come from Russia.

Price increase

Thus, according to Vladimir Putin, the rise in gas and oil prices on the world markets has nothing to do with Russia, and prices have peaked since the mass invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine.

“Prices are going up there, but it’s not our fault, it’s the result of their own miscalculations, they can’t blame us,” he said.
