This was a breakup of epic proportions and it shows no signs of slowing down. Among the many casualties of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ breakup (the Don’t Worry Darling press tour, Sudeikis’ image as a nice guy, etc.) you can now count Valentine’s Day. The two (along with ML Management) were sued by their former nanny, Ericka Genaro, on February 14. Genaro claims she was discriminated against when Sudeikis fired her for taking an osteopath-mandated three-day vacation to deal with her stress. The stress itself was a result of Sudeikis and Wilde’s breakup, which caused Genaro to take on significantly more work and resulted in Sudeikis having a “tendency to appear to oblige the plaintiff to stay up at night after the children were ready to talk.” were put to bed”.

Genaro’s legal team alleges that she was hired by Wilde, Sudeikis and ML Management in 2018 as a live-in nanny who would approve her expenses and give her regular directions. Wilde “abruptly left home” in November 2020, the lawsuit states. On October 17, 2022, an unidentified former nanny spoke to the Chron, citing a now infamous November 15, 2020 interaction in which Sudeikis allegedly said, “She made this salad, and she made her special dressing, and she goes with her salad for dinner [Harry Styles].” Wilde almost confirmed this by posting an Instagram Story a day later about the “Special Dressing” recipe from Nora Ephron’s book Heartburn.

In late November of that year, Genaro reportedly asked for a private one-on-one meeting with Wilde to tell her about her anxiety. Sudeikis later told Genaro, she claims, revealing that Wilde had shared the details with him. “Do you trust me?” he allegedly said what the lawsuit alleges was “part ‘caught’, part threat, and part acknowledgment that the plaintiff was on Sudeki’s side.” The ongoing stress of the breakup and tabloid focus on the incident worried Genaro, darling — to the point where she says she was in physical pain along with her stress and anxiety. She alleges that she told Sudeikis about these issues and that both Sudeikis and Wilde “agreed to engage in group therapy with the plaintiff via both remote sessions and group text messages with Genaro,” the lawsuit states . The same therapist referred Genaro to an osteopath.

With the osteopath’s support, Genaro decided to leave the job, which she reportedly informed Sudeikis of in February 2021, giving him five months’ notice to allow time to find a new nanny. The next day, Genaro was ordered a three-day vacation from her work for Sudeikis and Wilde — including “radio silence” from everyone.” The osteopath then allegedly forwarded this prescription to the group therapist who Sudeikis, who promptly messaged Genaro, the lawsuit claims communicated. When Genaro again informed Sudeikis of the prescription, he allegedly fired her and asked ML management to remove her from his property and house her in a hotel. Vulture has reached out to the Wilde and Sudeikis teams and ML management for comment with no response. Not every celebrity nanny pairing can have a relationship like Melanie Lynskey and Celli.
