Olivia Wilde has addressed the backlash she faced after sharing a message suggesting the furore surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could be focused on more important issues.
Earlier this month, Wilde, 39, faced backlash after she posted a tweet on her Instagram Stories that said, “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist.”
Speaking to a reporter on Sunday, Wilde said she didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings – and just wanted to make a statement about how much attention is being paid to “stupid things.”
“I didn’t mean any harm. “It’s obviously a commentary on how much attention is paid to stupid things,” she said as she left the Studio City farmers market.
Online critics didn’t hold back after she shared her tweet earlier this month, even bringing her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles into the conversation.
