Omar Pedrini Ambassador of Brescia to the Principality. Not against”. But still”. On Friday January 20th, at the invitation of the Local Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society in Monaco, Uncle Rock will be performing at the Théâtre des Variétés for an «Event in honor of the nomination of Bergamo and Brescia as Italian Capital of Culture 2023». With him the actor Giorgio Pasotti from Bergamo and the documentary filmmaker Valeria Cagnoni.
The appointment coincides with the presence in our city by President Sergio Mattarella: That day Pedrini will be far away. «Someone, especially if he is aware of the fact that my proposals were not lucky and that I decided not to be part of the catwalk in the square in Brescia on January 21st, could imagine a distance from my beloved city… ». Omar himself wrote it on social media, just as he was giving the news of the “very welcome invitation” received and accepted by the association “that protects Italian culture in the world”.
A contribution that goes hand in hand those of Fridaywhen Pedrini – echoing Alberto Albertini’s article in our newspaper about opportunities lost over time – thanked him for the citation “Brescia Music Art”which “I gave my city for a couple of years”, admitting that he had hoped for their recovery, on the double anniversary of the capital and the 25th anniversary of the first edition, adding: “But the BMA doesn’t seem to to be remembered to do”.
However, no flight abroad as a reaction. Pedrini writes again: “Without any polemical spirit that does not belong to me, and while thanking the dear President, I felt that, for Brescia, that I love deeply like a mothermy role as ambassador, as entrusted to me by a prestigious institution, was better than a simple addition at the opening ceremonies, where you will miss me among so many colleagues from Brescia (and unfortunately no colleague from Bergamo)» .
