This week, General Hospital said an emotional farewell to character Bobbie Spencer in a two-part episode with a fantastic twist ending. In Port Charles, however, everything soon went back to normal.

Touched by an angel

I predict Bobbie's memorial will win several Daytime Emmys for General Hospital next year. It was so well done, from the speeches to the flashbacks and the twist that reporter Angela Brighton was BJ's angel, coming to Port Charles to help everyone remember what made Bobbie so special to them. The BJ twist worked so well and I didn't see it coming until she magically disappeared on Maxie. I knew then that she was an angel and possibly BJ. I got emotional several times in these two episodes, especially when BJ called Lucas “Champ” before he disappeared.

Originally I thought the actress might have been one of Jaquelyn Zeman's daughters, given how much she resembles her, and especially given the lines she was given about a special relationship with her own mother, and Felicia's kindness Eyes commented. When it turned out she was BJ, it made perfect sense. The episodes also made me realize how much Lucas will be missed and with Bobbie gone it would be great to have him back on screen. The shows leading up to the memorial, including the discussions Liz and Sonny had with Carly at Kelly's, were also fantastic. And of course, renaming the restaurant Bobbie's was a fantastic finishing touch and ensured that Bobbie was a permanent presence on the show.

However, Carly and Felicia must have used the Millennium Falcon to get from Port Charles to Amsterdam, then to Canada and finally back to Port Charles! Also, the whole human trafficking story and rescuing Cornelia seemed a little rushed. They rescued this girl in no time and without any danger to her. However, I liked their conversation about why Felicia never really bothered to hang out with Carly, and it went back to Carly coming to Port Charles and destroying Bobbie's life back in the day. Felicia, winner of the longest grudge in Port Charles! But it also reminded me of what I wrote in my column last week, when Carly called Nina fundamentally incapable of change and screamed that she would never forgive her… and then we have two episodes of Carly, which focusing on how Bobbie forgave her for her own wrongdoings and changed her from the schemer she was… Carly and Nina really aren't that different on some levels if you think about it.

Oh, and Carly doesn't know the difference between a deer and a moose? Hilarious!

The rest of the week…

Dark Sonny is back and more dangerous than ever. Not content with just beating up Cyrus, he has now ordered Dex to kill him! Dex was sure this wouldn't make Sonny's problems go away, but obviously Sonny isn't thinking straight at the moment. I also can't imagine Dex going through with the job as he just doesn't have the feel of a cold-blooded killer. Although Sonny was smart when he used the danger Cyrus posed to his family, including Joss, to give Dex the impetus. I suspect that Nina will convince Cyrus not to press charges.

Nikolas just returned to Port Charles and it looks like he's saying goodbye again. Hopefully it won't be long before we see him again, and his appearance at Spencer's at the end of Friday's show was a nice surprise. I'm excited to see how this visit goes.

More: The killer twist Maura West didn't like

Laura continued to insist to Esme that coming forward about the Wyndemere break-in would make her feel better, which was hilarious, especially considering the fact that we know Esme has her memory back. Ava filing charges and getting her locked up was a twist I didn't expect! However, this should put a brake on Spencer's trip to Paris with Trina. And Esme making a mistake and calling Spencer her old nickname for him, “Spence,” will certainly make things interesting! Since Spencer knows she's back, I can't imagine she's actually doing time, but maybe just doing community service. I still want Esme to struggle more to reconcile her two halves and not just revert back to being a truly evil person. This drove Nelle into a corner and made her virtually irretrievable to the audience.

I'm glad Willow isn't so quick to forgive Michael for keeping the truth about Nina from her, but honestly I think she'll give in and take him back soon. And when will we see Carly's wrath when she finds out Michael knew about Nina and didn't tell her?

I was really hoping that Felicia would have revealed the truth about Cody, but it wasn't hard to guess that Sasha had switched the samples when she followed her at the Home & Heart show. Plus, revealing the truth wouldn't be the same without Mac on the show. In addition, there was never a lawsuit against the WSB for destroying the necklace. So why does Cody make such a point of signing an affidavit that has never been used in a court case? This act seems silly and weak to me. It would be far more interesting if they went back to the secret Cody and Dante have from their youth that the writers seem to have forgotten.

So Curtis had surgery… NEXT! Honestly, this is a storyline I have absolutely no interest in. But at least it's not the surrogacy story…

And finally there's Adam… NEXT! Again, there is no interest or point in having a plot centered around a character who has no connection to anyone in the city.

That's all I have for this week. Share your opinions and thoughts below and share what you think about the Bobbie-focused episodes.
