On video: Fonseca fulfills her dream and sings for Sergio Vega and Paula Durán, his wife who has cancer. “I promise you will be my love forever”

The story of Paula Durán and Sergio Vega is one among thousands of Colombians and immigrants across the United States who have reached out for help. Through a video posted on social media, the Colombian, who is battling head cancer, along with her partner Sergio Vega, both nationals, asked President Joe Biden to intervene so the woman’s parents could travel to visit her

According to Vega, his wife has a brain tumor and doctors have said her death is imminent in a month, barring a miracle. Because of this, he claimed, he almost begged the US government to reunite his relatives in that country.

Thanks to the petition and help of thousands of people united in this cause, Paula’s parents managed to get a humanitarian visa and enter California to accompany their daughter during this difficult time.

For now, the woman and her family are united and at home, said Vega, who is worried about the lack of care she will receive as the hospital has had multiple services. He also explained that the nurse they were given could only walk four days a week.

“Paula is very strong. Despite everything she’s going through, she’s genuinely happy to be home with her girls and baby. We’ll all be together.” the Colombian indicated.

In addition, the spouses showed themselves more united than ever and wanted to share a magical moment full of love through their social networks. On January 20, the couple celebrated their anniversary and singer Fonseca was there to accompany them.

It all unfolded because netizens noticed this special date and started naming the artist in Sergio Vegas’ post, who showed on Instagram Live that he had decorated the room with heart-shaped balloons.

“Thank you for all the messages you sent me to get this serenade from afar for Paula. All my love and good energy to her, her husband @sergiovega228711 and all her family at this difficult time. Tell them and anyone going through a similar situation that they are not alone. May Sergio’s faith always be an inspiration 🙏🏻,” the singer wrote in his post, which already surpasses 30,000 likes.

Comments received by the publication read: “More musicians like this…human and sensitive to others!!!! Grande Fonseca 👏👏👏 God bless you!”, “What an angel, what light this man is projecting. Many Thanks!!! A whole planet united for the same cause”, “Thank you for this beautiful gesture. I saw the show and it was really a very special gesture from you. ❤️”, “The Great Importance of EMPATHY ❤️”.

It is worth remembering that a few years ago Sergio Vega emigrated to the northern country in search of a better future, but life surprised him and his wife Paula Durán. She was diagnosed with stomach and brain cancer. They immigrated to the United States from Neiva in May 2022 along with their other two children. But when they got there, they found that Paula was pregnant. During routine medical examinations, they found that she was suffering from the serious illness.

In order for their son to survive, they had to do a Caesarean section and he was born prematurely. She immediately had to have surgery to remove the tumour, but the cancer is at a very advanced stage and therefore her death seems imminent.

It is recalled that the Huila man assured that the doctors who treated her at John Muir Health Hospital told him to take her home with a nurse as she was out of medical treatment.

The man stressed that he was concerned his wife was not receiving the medical care she needed. He also emphasized that additional health services in the United States are expensive. “I recently spoke to the company that provides this service to see if the nurse can stay longer as Paula needs 24/7 medical care. The pain she is suffering is very intense,” he concluded.
