A simple clothing incident prompted Saudi authorities to cancel a performance by singer Iggy Azalea on Friday.
The Australian artist apologized on social media for not being able to complete her performance in Saudi Arabia.
She blames the local police, who decided to cancel the rest of the show when the singer ripped her pants on the thigh.
Please know everyone at the show tonight, Saudi Arabia…
I LOVE YOU!!!
And I’m sooooo sorry I couldn’t finish my show 😭
It’s not the promoter who is blaming the show so show them kindness because they are great people and we all wanted to go on but weren’t…— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) August 25, 2023
The 33-year-old artist wanted to inform his fans that it was not the organizers’ decision to end the concert.
Iggy Azalea claims he only offered to change his pants, but local authorities reportedly refused to continue the show.
The singer claims he also told the public, “Ladies, make some noise; It’s a woman’s world!”, which would have made the Saudi police brim over.
“I didn’t want my fans to be sad or angry with the show organizers because it wasn’t their decision or mine, it was the decision of the police on the sidelines,” affirms the artist.
