A man has died in a shooting that occurred this Saturday after 10:30 p.m. in the Palmete district of Seville. In addition to the deceased, two other people were seriously injured and taken to hospital. This is the second shooting in the capital Seville in recent months. The previous accident, recorded on October 15, occurred after a fight in which one victim was seriously injured.
As reported by Diario de Sevilla and ABC, as well as sources from the Unified Emergency Service 112 of Andalusia and the National Police, a person called the emergency services for the first time last Saturday at around 10:30 p.m. and warned that he had heard detonations that seemed to him to indicate shots fired in the Libertad Street in the modest neighborhood of San José de Palmete.
Following the warning, state police, local police and public health officials were alerted and confirmed that a shooting had indeed occurred around the time mentioned above when someone opened fire from a car and fled.
Citizen protection officers went to the scene to cordon off the area, as did members of the criminal investigation department who tried to gather information based on neighbors' statements. The state police homicide squad has taken over the investigation.
