Former ice hockey player Steve Carlson, who played one of the Hanson brothers in the cult film “Slap Shot,” suffered serious injuries in a bicycle accident on Wednesday.
Without providing specific information about the 67-year-old’s mishap, such as the exact location, his wife Vicki wanted to reassure admirers of him, who was playing the role of one of the film’s famous brothers, accompanied by his brother Jeff and former North American Hockey League Johnstown Jets teammate Dave Hanson.

The situation initially seemed precarious, as the headmaster concerned had to be hospitalized urgently. However, via the @Hanson_Brothers Twitter account, the 60-year-old sweetheart has said her condition is stable.
“I am grateful to everyone for your prayers. You will keep Steve overnight. He suffered multiple fractures and is covered in multiple stitches,” Carlson’s wife wrote early Thursday evening, also posting a photo showing the victim’s dried, blood-stained hand. “We’ll meet the doctors in the morning and give them a little tighter hug tonight.”

The Jets’ 1974-75 victory inspired the creation of the work, filmed in 1976 and released the following year, in which the Johnstown Chiefs’ Hansons wreak havoc on the ice.
