One person dies in a collision with a tree in north Montreal

Montreal police finally managed to recover the body of the motorist, who suddenly lost his life when he crashed head-on into a tree in Montreal North early Monday morning.

The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Léger Boulevard near Fortin Avenue, the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) said.

The victim, who was alone on board, reportedly lost control of his vehicle as it was traveling east on Léger Boulevard.

She would then have crashed into a tree at the conclusion of her race, where her vehicle caught fire.

If speed probably played a role in the accident, it cannot be ruled out that a mechanical problem or malaise was also involved, according to the SPVM.

Due to the violence of the event, police officers asked some bystanders to keep their distance from the police activity.

“You don’t want to see that,” launched a policewoman simply.

At one point, an agent even had to raise his voice in the face of a citizen repeating comings and goings, Le Journal noted.

“It’s a human being in there,” the police officer said bluntly. You should be ashamed to act like that.”

Boulevard Léger has been closed between Avenue Fortin and Boulevard Rolland and an investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
