Big winner at the Golden Globes on Monday, Oppenheimer Arriving at the top of the nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) on Wednesday, awards from the American Actors Union are considered a good indicator for the Oscars.

The SAG Awards ceremony will be broadcast live for the first time this year on the platform of the global streaming giant Netflix and is therefore expected to benefit from renewed awareness.
Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan's curvy portrait of the designer of the atomic bomb, was nominated in several categories, including Best Ensemble, the SAG Awards' most coveted prize.
Actors Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt are also individually selected by their colleagues.
The critically acclaimed three-hour biopic, which grossed nearly $1 billion, is on track to become a favorite in the Oscar race.
Barbie, another summer box office hit and true cultural and commercial phenomenon, was also selected in the Best Acting Ensemble category, with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling also individually nominated.

Martin Scorsese's historical fresco Killers of the Flower Moon received three individual nominations, despite actor Leonardo DiCaprio being conspicuously absent.
On the big screen, Succession received five nominations, followed by The Bear, The Last of Us and Ted Lasso, which received four nominations each.
The SAG Awards are voted for by actors and are therefore considered a very good indicator for the Oscars.

The actors form the main university within the Academy of Film Arts and Sciences, which awards the prestigious golden statuettes.
The 30th SAG Awards will take place on February 24th in Los Angeles.
