Something dark is in the air for Oppo in France. The company, once a behemoth of the smartphone industry, is facing headwinds. Oppo, which is currently at the center of a legal battle with Nokia over 4G and 5G licenses, appears to be preparing to withdraw from the French market.
A scenario that does not bode well for the future of the brand on French soil. In fact, several indications point to an imminent conclusion: cessation of new product launches, departure of the director of the French company and a large part of the team, testimonies from various sellers confirming that Oppo France is just about to pack its case.
Leftovers will be cleared
However, the company has not yet presented all of its products. The remaining stocks are liquidated, especially during the sale period. For example, we saw an Oppo A74 5G sold in a Super U near Nantes at an unbeatable price: 89.70 euros instead of 299 euros, a discount of more than 70%. Note that the same smartphone is still sold for more than 200 euros on Amazon France.
Despite Oppo’s unenviable situation in France, customer support and product support would be maintained. This is a statement from Oppo itself, which assures customers that their purchases will last. After all, Oppo is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world and continues to grow outside of France. As for software updates, it is almost certain that they will be provided. In the case of the Oppo A74, given the significant discount, it’s a good plan.
This raises an interesting question: in this dire situation, is there an opportunity for Oppo to take advantage of? The adage that you always have to see the bright side of things, even when things are going badly, seems applicable here. Take advantage of the summer sale to take a look at what Oppo has to offer.
