The shocked crew of a Polish tourist yacht have told how they survived a terrifying 45-minute attack by a pack of orcas in Spain but were unable to save their boat from devastating damage. He suffered.
The attack, one of several reported in waters around Spain, occurred in the Strait of Gibraltar in the early afternoon of October 31st. The boat, operated by the Morskie Mile company, subsequently sank, but all crew members survived.

Recalling the terrible incident on board the Grazie Mamma II, the tourism company said in a statement: “On October 31, 2023, the Grazie Mamma II sank: “In the Strait of Gibraltar, early in the afternoon, our yacht was attacked by a pack of orcas. They struck the rudder for 45 minutes, causing significant damage and a leak.
Despite attempts by the captain, crew and rescuers of the SAR, the harbor tugs and the Moroccan Navy to return the yacht to port, the unit sank near the entrance to the port of Tangier Med. The crew is safe and sound in Spain.”
