Swept away by the Capitales de Quebec during their last series against them in July, the Titans didn’t expect to pull off the same trick on Saturday in Ottawa, winning the second clash of their series 6-4.

The crowd favorites were also quick to announce their intentions, scoring two runs on their first appearance thanks to a sacrifice ball from Clay Fisher and a single from Tyrus Greene.
However, it was Brendon Dadson who aggressively hosted the show for the day’s winners. The designated hitter first hit a two-run homer from starting pitcher Henry Omana in the second inning. He then did it again at bat in the eighth round, this time against reliever Joel Huertas. It was that second shot that turned out to be the deciding game. Huertas (1-2) therefore added the defeat to his tally.
The visitors’ reaction was particularly strong in the second round at bat, where they went over the plate three times, including twice after Kyle Crowl’s double.
The Capitals even managed to level the game in the sixth inning thanks to a double run from Josh Sears, but Dadson came up and cut their legs moments later.
An important final game
The Capitals remain firmly established as the No. 1 spot in the East section of the Frontier League. If they want to hold that position, however, they must circle the final game of their streak against the Titans, Sunday, with a large red marker.
The latter are their most serious pursuers. With a 45-32 record, the Ontario team is second in the section, just four games behind the Capitals and the lead. With the first team in each leg being offered a bye to the first round of the playoffs, the final game of this series could prove decisive.
After completing this series, the two formations will meet twice instead of once, at the moment of three games, each time at Canac Stadium.
