Our expert's NHL bet on Wednesday: It's worth betting on the Bruins

We won our sports bet on the NHL on Tuesday. Brayden Point managed to have more than 2.5 shots on goal against Vancouver. Now let's try to continue this momentum!

Wednesday's NHL tip is backed by one of my top 10 betting strategies: The Broken Winning Streak.

According to this system, we should bet against a team whose winning streak of three or more games has just been broken in a previous game.

The Boston Bruins qualify for this betting angle. They face a New Jersey Devils team that is coming off of a 4-1 loss to the Oilers in its last game and has rattled off three straight wins.

Therefore, my choice for Wednesday is the Bruins, as they are underdogs against the Devils.

A good swing

The Bruins travel to New Jersey with good momentum. They are 4-1 in their last five games, with three of those wins coming by more than one goal.

The Devils have also been playing some good hockey lately, posting a 6-2 record in their last eight games. However, hosting the Bruins could be a difficult task for the Devils, who are recovering from a loss.

The Bruins have performed well on the road, posting a 14-6 record in their last 20 games. And the Prudential Center has been a convenient venue for them, as they have won four of their last five visits to that arena.

Swayman advantage

The Bruins will have a nice edge on defense if Jeremy Swayman and Vitek Vanecek are confirmed for the game.

Swayman is 9-1-2 with an excellent 2.08 goals-against average and .932 save percentage as he continues to shine behind a strong Bruins defensive group.

On the other hand, Vanecek has a very good 10-5 record, but is much more generous, allowing an average of 3.49 goals with a save percentage of .879 in 17 games of the 2023-2024 season.

Vanecek has the worst goals-against average among the 12 goalkeepers with at least 10 wins this season.

In addition to betting on the Bruins to win, I would like to take this opportunity to wish my youngest son a happy 8th birthday! Happy birthday, Jay!
