As the countdown to 2024 approaches, Corneille offers the song Our year with Laurence Nerbonne. A first excerpt full of hope for his new album The echo of pearls is scheduled to appear in 2024.
“Our year is a song about the hope for a second chance in a new year,” explains Corneille. It is the anthem of all those who have lived in the shadows for too long and who, this year, in these difficult times, enjoy the luxury of optimism and look forward with firm faith to a future where the light will finally find it.”
Corneille's song “Notreannée” comes from his 2013 album “Entre Nord et Sud” and takes on a new dimension under the music of Laurence Nerbonne.
“I was looking for a selection of songs from Quebec and searched Corneille's discography. “I came across this extremely catchy chorus and revisited the melody by creating a new beat and new arrangements,” says Laurence Nerbonne, who will also release a new album in 2024.
Laurence Nerbonne also added a verse to the song that focuses on “the New Year as an opportunity to embrace one's difference through another generation.”
The past current
The album L'écho des Pearls will revisit Corneille's songs “to give them the light they deserve.” At the moment we do not know which pieces will be revisited as part of this project.
Since the release of the opus “Because We Come From Far” in 2002, Corneille has carved out a special place for herself in the Quebec musical landscape. His last album Encre Rose was released in 2022.
