When John B. Routledge and Sarah Cameron, played by Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline, view a threat from the off, the narrator says, “Some people have everything, some people have nothing. It’s always been like that. Until now.’

A fast-paced montage of action-oriented footage is then shown before JJ Maybank, played by Rudy Pankow, finds a book called The Loss of El Dorado and gives his friends a knowing look.

After an edited version of The Beach Boys’ track Sloop John B begins, the narrator, who turns out to be Routledge, expresses that “For my father and I, the Treasure was our way out. Like us even the scales. How the Pogues win.”

The show’s main cast then explores a beach and celebrates together before Stokes’ character ominously declares, “At some point you kind of have to ask yourself: Was the treasure an escape? Or was it a trap?’

Another action montage was shown in which Kiara Carrera, played by Madison Bailey, was kidnapped by a group of mercenaries and taken to the estate of crime boss Carlos Singh.

The criminal, portrayed by Andy McQueen, tells her that “You and your friends hold the key to ultimate conquest: El Dorado. And that, my young friend, is my destiny.’

Routledge then reconnects with his father, Big John, played by Charles Halford, and Pope Heyward, portrayed by Jonathan Daviss, looks at a manuscript showing a Mayan script before speaking of a “city of gold”.

Rafe menacingly expresses to an offscreen character that he’s “going to take what’s mine,” and John B later reconnects with his group of friends, who all seem in favor of looking for new treasure.

Cameron later has a tense meeting with her father, Ward, played by Charles Esten, who seems keen to mend his relationship with his daughter.

After a third action montage is shown, Rafe says to his father, “I don’t need you anymore,” and an unidentified character picks up a stone idol, his eyes shining.

The trailer ends with Pankow and Heyward jovially congratulating each other after a dangerous operation.
