“I was very lucky. Even though it hit really hard, I’m already back to normal,” said Nicolas Beauchemin in a video published on the Tiktok platform.

The event occurred on September 10th on the way to Côte-de-Liesse. The driver was leaving the parking lot of the Porsche Prestige dealership where a gathering of vehicle enthusiasts was taking place. The scene was filmed and made the rounds on social media.

“It got out of hand pretty quickly, there was nothing we could do about it. “The driver lost control of his vehicle in a split second,” the 23-year-old explained in a video.

Mr Beauchemin, who owns a car detailing business, said he escaped with a concussion and a few stitches to the back of his head.

Her 19-year-old friend is still in the hospital with broken femurs, both hips and a forearm.

“It became trapped between the vehicle and the falling pole. His injuries are much more serious. Fortunately she is recovering very well, only her hospital stay will be longer,” said Mr Beauchemin.

Recall that 28-year-old Keith Joseph Stephan has been charged with dangerous driving causing risk of injury.

He will be back in court next November.

Advice

In his video, Nicolas Beauchemin wanted to give advice to those who want to attend such meetings.

“Especially young people, stop encouraging others to do this [faire accélérer] their tank in the back when they leave the event,” he said.

“If you want to hear his [pot d’échappement]ask him to do it [faire vrombir son moteur] before he leaves,” concluded Mr. Beauchemin.
