Owner of Choquei blocks profile after suicide of young man Revista Oeste

The creator of Choquei, Raphael Sousa, has blocked his personal profile on Instagram following the suicide of Jéssica Canedo. The 22yearold student took her own life after the gossip site's profile reported that she was in a relationship with comedian Whindersson Nunes.

However, the “news” about Choquei was fake, said Jéssica and Nunes in response to the profile. Because of the pressure, the woman took her own life. Due to the controversy, the site took the posts offline.

Choquei, who is known for leaking information without verification, published images of supposedly romantic dialogues between Jéssica and Nunes.

“I have no idea who this girl is and this is a fake impression,” Whindersson said at the time. “This crossed the boundaries,” the young woman wrote on Instagram a few days before she took her own life.

The owner of Choquei made fun of Jéssica's text because it was supposedly long. “Tell her the Enem essay is already finished,” he said. “For God's sake.”

Ines Oliveira, Jessica's mother, even recorded a video asking the gossip site not to share false information about her daughter.
