Addressing the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Interfaith Harmony Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting and the Saudi representative in Islamabad agreed on the need to accelerate the implementation of the agreements between the two countries in the field of media and communications, stressed Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
They also discussed details of the next extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which will be held in Riyadh on November 12, as Saudi Arabia is the bloc’s president.
The main theme of the important summit will be the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
Solangi confirmed that his country, as a founding member of the OIC, will continue to play its role in implementing the bloc’s objectives and further strengthening the organization in protecting the interests of the Muslim community.
At the meeting, both parties also discussed other bilateral issues of mutual interest, APP noted.
Founded in 1969, the OIC is the second largest organization after the United Nations and has 57 member states on four continents.
According to the website of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation itself, it represents the collective voice of the Muslim world and strives to preserve and protect its interests in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among the diverse peoples of the world.
