As international media report, a second convoy of humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip this Sunday.
The incident occurred after first responders arrived this Saturday and at a time when Israel’s bombardment of the Palestinian territory was increasing.
The Rafah border crossing, which connects Egypt with Gaza, was reopened today to allow the entry of 17 trucks carrying humanitarian aid, EFE reports, citing local media.
Volunteers who had been at the intersection for days told Spanish media that these trucks contained “mainly medicine, water and food.”
The Rafah border crossing was closed for two weeks due to increasing Israeli attacks on Gaza. According to EFE, this was because Tel Aviv did not give the green light and the road connecting Egypt with Gaza was damaged by bombings.
With the arrival of the new convoy, an increase in bomb attacks and casualties from the attacks are reported in Palestine.
Crime is oblivion
Gaza has been attacked again by Israeli aircraft in recent hours, increasing the bombardment of the Gaza Strip. According to the military, two high-ranking officials from the Islamist group Hamas and other militants died in these attacks, Spanish media reported.
However, civilian casualties are also increasing. The Gaza news agency Sanad said at least 114 Palestinians had died in the Gaza Strip since yesterday afternoon.
Local sources cited by EFE indicate that among the sites attacked by Israel was a cafeteria and that about 80 people died in the town of Deir Balah in the south-central part of the Gaza Strip.
Amid this escalation, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari again called this Sunday on the Palestinian civilians remaining in the north of the enclave to evacuate to the south “for their safety.”
Hundreds of thousands of Gazans have already moved there, but hundreds of thousands of others have decided not to leave the north of the Strip or Gaza City, despite Israel’s warnings.
Since the outbreak of war, more than 4,400 people have been killed by Israeli bombings in Gaza, more than 70% of them children, women and the elderly.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, around 90 people have been shot dead by Israeli troops and settlers in the occupied West Bank since the war between Israel and Hamas broke out. This number includes five people who died this Sunday.
At the same time, rocket attacks by Palestinian militias against Israel continue, with more than 1,400 deaths recorded since the start of the conflict.
Meanwhile, Israel ordered the evacuation of 14 northern communities near the border with Lebanon after increasing its attacks on the military infrastructure of the Shiite Hezbollah militia, which also increased the firing of anti-tank missiles and rockets into Israeli territory.
