After this binational meeting in Darién, in response to a question from Prensa Latina about what other measures will be added to the Mexico Summit, Cortizo emphasized the need for the countries involved to come together through an open dialogue, as Panama and Costa Rica are doing, to what organizing is happening right now with all the people traveling through the region to get to the north.

At the same time, President Chaves argued that in addition to an open dialogue, there must also be a leadership conversation to protect these people but not harm communities.
He clarified that all countries must agree, since controlling the transit of these flows requires logistics that include, among others, transportation, food, health services, hydration, bio-identification and characterization of offenders.
Also ensure the transfer of funds, patrols in the areas and monitoring of people who have been raped or assaulted and the subsequent search for those responsible.
He announced that one of the solutions between the two countries is to provide migrants with 200 buses to cross Costa Rica from Panama, arriving at a checkpoint where they will be attended to by immigration authorities and then continue their journey duly registered . , without crowds in Paso Canoas, a city that borders the neighboring country to the south.
