the Brazilian designer Gil Marcel Cordeiro pointed out strong similarities between an art of his originally published in December 2022 and the latest poster of scream 6 Approved (on January 1, 2023) for the Outstanding.
Both arts imitate a subway map and hint that the new film will be set in New York. The lines form the outline of Ghostface’s mask, while the stops are named after defining moments in the franchise.
Although the colors used by the studio are different, the designer pointed out that the similarities between the works “permeate strongly from the concept and creation of the piece to the recognizable visual forms of the franchise.”
“I’m not saying here that there was plagiarism (or that there wasn’t one), it’s just a matter of verifying how similar the two pieces are on several levels and aspects, which rules out the possibility of saying that it was just a coincidence or a curious case of random creative decisions during a marketing campaign,” he commented.
Continuing the text, Cordeiro explained that he had received no word from those responsible for the Panic 6 campaign.
“As a fan, I love that my work is shared and I continue to look forward to campaigning for the sixth film but as a professional, I’m still deeply disappointed by what happened,” he added.

Please note that Courtney Cox (Gale) is the only actress from the classic Scream cast to return for the new sequel. The list also includes Hayden Panettiere (First return after Scream 4). Directors of the fifth film, released in 2022, Matt BettinelliOlpin and Tyler Gillet will command Panico VI which has a script from James Vanderbilt and Guy Busck.
The new chapter in the series follows the survivors of the recent Ghostface attacks who leave Woodsboro to try to start a new life. Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding and Jasmine Savoy Brown form the core of young protagonists.
Scream VI starts up March 10, 2023.
