Luciene Adami was the Guta of the first version of “Pantanal”
If you have never seen the first version of “Pantanal” and would like to see it, a way out is to follow Luciene Adami on social media. The actress, who played Guta in the original version, shares daily scenes from the 1990 soap opera.
Luciene shares that she was excited when she found out a remake of Pantanal was going to be produced. “I thought the idea was cool because today, especially in the Pantanal, we are in a completely different situation than 32 years ago. Deforestation and fires took place in another dimension. I thought it was cool that they brought this with a more current perception,” he says.
From there, the 57yearold actress explains that she already had a feeling the remake would be successful and decided to take scenes from the original version to Instagram. “I thought, ‘There are so many people who are into soap opera. I think people would like to see the old scenes too,’” he says. She also highlights that before she only had 5,000 followers and now that she’s making nostalgic posts, 54,000 people are following her profile, a 980% growth.
Behind the scenes with no clothes and incest
Luciene also remembers the backstage area of the original version of “Pantanal”. She says she found it difficult to shoot scenes without clothes. It is worth noting that Guta is one of the characters who has the most intimate scenes in the novel.
“It wasn’t easy shooting the nude scenes. And I had a nude scene right at the start of the soap opera,” recalls the actress, who also points out that she doesn’t see that many nude scenes in the current version. However, says the artist, the team tried to make the actors comfortable at the time: “We were super protected. Jayme Monjardim (Production Manager) defined that there should be a minimum of people from the team in these intimate scenes.”
Adami also addresses one of Guta’s controversies currently on the air: incest with Marcelo. The character and her brother narrated without knowing that they were brothers. Now that they know about the relationship, they can’t hide the attraction they feel for each other.

The actress says that in 1990, the actors gradually received the scripts. In other words, little did they know that Guta and Marcelo end up discovering that they are not brothers. Therefore, Luciene was extremely uncomfortable with their relationship in the storyline, as was Tarcísio Filho (Marcelo).
“There was a kissing scene between the two of them that really pissed me off, I was like, ‘You can’t do that.’ Then I went to the director to talk to him. He laughed and said: “Wow, Tarcisinho [Tarcísio Filho] he just walked away from here and told me the same thing,” he recalls.
She explains that Jayme Monjardim calmed her down and said he would resolve the situation. “And he really did. When we got the full story, it all made sense,” he continues.
Luciene also makes a point of remembering the atmosphere behind the scenes. She says she has a very close relationship with Cristiana Oliveira (Juma), Andréa Richa (Muda) and Jussara Freire (Filó). “We shared a room and got along very well. I haven’t had any relationship problems with anyone,” he says.

Finally, she analyzes Julia Dalavia’s work as current Guta. “I think she’s a great actress and she plays a completely different guta than mine. Although we are the same guta, with the same discourse, with the same questions, we have built different characters. And that’s no problem.”
