The Carolina Panthers have officially signed No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. The quarterback signed his rookie contract on Saturday. announced the team. Young will receive a four-year, fully guaranteed contract for $37.95, including a $24.6 million signing bounty. He will receive $25.3 million in 2023 in a deal that includes a five-year option in 2027. according to Spotrac.
Young will report from his first NFL training camp on Saturday. Already passionate about Charlotte culture, he has several boxes of Bojangles and a photo scene posted on Twitter.
Young recently inked a deal with Bojangles, the Carolinas-based southern grocery chain known for its chicken, while he works to integrate into the Charlotte community.
Young is the Panthers’ final draft pick for 2023, set to finalize their deal.
The Heisman Trophy winner from Alabama started for two years and established itself in the program history. He is second in Crimson Tide history with 8,356 pass yards and 80 career touchdowns.

Carolina traded to the first pick of that year’s draft and wanted to be the first pick of every available quarterback. After practice sessions, visits and extensive research by the team, the Panthers felt it was Young who would give them the best chance of winning.
