A high-ranking Paraguayan official has been fired from his post for signing a cooperation memorandum advocating the establishment of diplomatic relations with a country… that does not exist.

Arnaldo Chamorro, former chief of staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, himself announced to the press on Thursday that he had been fired the day before after reaching an agreement in October with representatives of the “United States of Kailasa”, a so-called “United States of Kailasa”. had signed. named island in the north of South America.
“They came and expressed a desire to help Paraguay, they presented several projects, we listened to them and that was it,” the official explained, admitting that he had been deceived.
The two “emissaries” were even briefly received by Minister Carlos Gimenez, he said.
In the memorandum on the ministry’s letterhead and seal, the former chief of staff said: “Congratulations to the Honorable Nithyananda Paramashivam, Ruler of the United States of Kailasa, and appreciate his contributions to Hinduism, humanity and the Republic of Paraguay.”
It recommends “that the Government of Paraguay actively explore the establishment of diplomatic relations with the United States of Kailasa and support its admission as a sovereign state to various international organizations, including the United Nations.”
According to several Paraguayan media outlets, the Kailasa “sovereign” in question is actually an Indian citizen wanted by his country’s judiciary.
In a press release, the ministry complained of “procedural errors” by the former official regarding a document “that cannot be considered official” and that was created “without authorization (…) and without the necessary competence.”
He therefore ensures that he rejects “any kind of legal or administrative obligation” towards “the said organization”.
