A wedding celebration ended in tragedy this Saturday the 25th after the groom shot four people, including the woman who would become his wife and her mother. After the crime, the man committed suicide.
Chaturong Suksuk, a 29yearold Paralympic athlete and former Marine, allegedly pulled out a gun and shot guests after an argument with his wife over insecurity caused by his disability.
The ceremony took place in Wang Nam Khiao district, which is about 223 kilometers from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The information comes from the Chron.

Understand the case:
- Chaturong Suksuk lost a leg after being hit by a train while still a soldier. After the incident, he became a Paralympian and won a silver medal at the 2022 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Games;
- The couple had been together for three years and during his own wedding reception he allegedly argued with his bride, Kanchana Pachunthuek, 44, over insecurities surrounding his disability;
- The drunk groom was allegedly afraid that his wife would leave him for other men, so he took a gun and shot her;
- The victim’s mother and sister were also hit and died. Stray bullets hit two other guests, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
- Chaturong committed suicide shortly after the shooting. Local authorities said they were still investigating the motive;
- The crime would have been committed using a licensed weapon that the athlete had legally purchased.
