Parents line up to smack Michigan school board member for saying ‘whiteness is evil’

Parents demanded that a Michigan school board member be fired on Tuesday after she tweeted, “Whiteness is evil” and insisted Caucasians were more dangerous than wild animals.

Kesha Hamilton has written a series of inflammatory posts on the social media site, claiming whiteness is “tantamount to racism” and urging people to be “safe” around “white people”.

Hamilton, whose ex-husband is white, faced parents and teachers at a tense Jackson Public Schools board meeting that called for extra security amid protests by a far-right group at the school.

A mother insisted her “racist comments should not be condoned”.

In a separate post on December 3, she said: “The last thing you need to worry about is an animal – although that could be a very real threat…more dangerous are any whites you see on the trail…be safe!” ‘

The mother-of-six doubled down on her statements, which she has not deleted from her public profile.

She told the meeting this week, “We need to ask ourselves what we’re resentful about — the fact that it was said or the fact that it’s true?”

She added: “We need to educate ourselves [about] how these racial differences affect us and our neighbors, and don’t let them successfully silence us.’

She continues to serve as a board member for Jackson Public Schools, which represents several schools throughout Jackson, Michigan.

Hamilton was elected in 2020, although her term expires at the end of 2026.

“Your racist remarks should not be tolerated. How can all children feel safe when physical traits over which they have no control are labeled evil and dangerous?

After the meeting, Hamilton insisted it was a success, writing on Facebook: “Thank you Jackson! I cannot express enough how much each of you and your presence on Tuesday night meant to me personally.

“The ones in person and the ones online.”

She added: “I felt your support deep in my spirit and what was also very clear was your acknowledgment of the real issue. Our students. Our teacher. Our dates. Continuing a focus on racial justice. And the embrace of diverse leadership.’

Hamilton, whose social media profiles also contain anti-police remarks, runs her own consultancy, Diverse Minds Consulting, LCC, which claims to “fill the gaps that exist in diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism messaging and education.”

She claims in her bio on her website that she was inspired by her experiences of being married to a white man and having children of mixed race.

In 2020, she ran a campaign to become a Jackson Public Schools board member, which she successfully won.

At the time, she said three of her children were attending school.

Last year, Hamilton got into a fight with Superintendent Jeff Beal, whom she accused of harassment and bullying.

However, an independent investigation found that there was not enough evidence to support the claims.

Hamilton’s recent posts have sparked widespread outrage, prompting local far-right group Proud Boys to distribute flyers around the school that read: “Jackson School Board hates white people”.

The school was forced to postpone Tuesday’s meeting after being warned by the Jackson Police and Fire Department about the possible participation of “outside agitator groups.”

Ahead of the meeting, Superintendent Jeff Beal said: “I have received the attention of several concerned citizens over the past month who are frustrated by the racist tones or undertones on social media by trustee Kesha Hamilton.

However, during the meeting, many defended Hamilton’s comments.

Myeshia Jones insisted she wasn’t being hateful as she explained: “Whiteness is the system, the ideology, the belief, the idea that because you’re white you’re superior to black people.

“Because your skin is white, you deserve better. Because your skin is white, you have a better chance.”

Meanwhile, Jackson High School teacher Paris Anderson told the gathering, “Hamilton is a caring and compassionate parent whose actions were not racist or anti-white.
