Paris, January 6 (EFE). – French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna met this Saturday by telephone with her Iranian counterpart Hosein Amir Abdolahian, whom she demanded to put an end to destabilizing actions in the Middle East.
“The risk of regional escalation has never been greater; Iran and its allies must immediately stop their destabilizing actions,” the French minister said in a message on social media after the interview.
In recent days, the French diplomatic chief has held meetings with counterparts from the region to try to calm the situation.
According to a statement from his department, in addition to the Iranian prime minister, he also met with the Lebanese prime minister and foreign officials from Palestine, Egypt and Qatar.
In the Egyptian's case, they discussed the importation of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, while he spoke to his Qatari counterpart about the release of the hostages, the cessation of hostilities and the credible prospect of a Palestinian state.
