Paris Hilton welcomes her first child 1:14
(CNN) — Paris Hilton announced the birth of her first child with her husband Carter Reum.
The celebrity shared a picture of a baby’s hand grasping a woman’s thumb on Instagram Tuesday, along with the caption, “You’re already loved beyond words” and a blue heart emoji.
Hilton officials confirmed the announcement to CNN.
In an interview with People published Tuesday, Hilton said, “It’s always been my dream to be a mom and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other. We are so excited to start a family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby.”
Hilton married venture capitalist Reum in a lavish ceremony in November 2021 and has since been open about using in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive a child, telling People she began the process during the Covid-19 pandemic had.
“We knew we wanted to start a family,” he said. “And I was like, ‘This is the perfect time. Normally I’m on a plane 250 days a year, now we’re all going to be storing and prepping the eggs, and we’re going to have tons of them waiting.’”
Hilton hasn’t shared any further details publicly or confirmed whether her son was born through a surrogate mother.
Meanwhile, other celebrities commented on her post to congratulate her.
“So happy for you guys!” Kim Kardashian wrote alongside a white heart emoji, while Chrissy Teigen wrote, “Wow!!!!! a baby!!!!! Congratulations, very happy for you both!!” and Heidi Klum said: “I’m so happy for you. I’m sending you lots of love.”
