East St. Louis (Illinois) offensive lineman Paris Patterson committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Patterson, 6-6, 345, went public with his decision around 5 p.m. Monday, July 4, becoming Arkansas’ 19th oral commitment for the Class of 2023.
He picked the Hogs over finalists Missouri, LSU, Nebraska, Jackson State and Tennessee. Patterson’s bid list also included the state of Iowa, Miami (Ohio), northern Alabama, northern Illinois, the Northwest state, Tulane, Tulsa and western Michigan.
Patterson was recruited to Fayetteville by offensive line coach Cody Kennedywho now has three offensive line commitments in this year’s class, including Patterson, four-star Luke Brown from Paris (Tenn.) Henry County and three-star Joey Su’a from Bentonville (Ark).
“I just always admired Coach Pitt (Sam Pittman) and I like what Coach (Cody) Kennedy has been doing here so far,” Patterson said. “It’s a win-win situation.”

Patterson was offered by the Razorbacks after attending a camp in Fayetteville on June 22, and returned with his family two days later to begin an official visit with the Hogs.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Patterson is a three-star contender, No. 492 nationally, No. 33 among all central defenders, and No. 8 in his home state of Illinois. 247Sports ranks Patterson as the 27th indoor offensive lineman in the country and the 7th player in Illinois.
Arkansas’ class sits at 219.68 total points on Patterson’s promise, good for seventh in the nation and second in the SEC behind Georgia. In addition to Patterson, Arkansas’ Class of 2023 includes seven other offensive commitments at the four-star quarterback Malachi Singleton from Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb, three-star running back Isaiah Augustave from Naples (Fla.), a trio of four-star tight ends in Shamar Easter from Ashdown (Ark), Luke Hasz from Bixby (Okla.), and Jaden Hamm by Eudora (Can.), four-star offensive lineman Luke Brown from Paris (Tenn.) Henry County and three-star offensive lineman Joey Su’a from Bentonville (Ark).
The defensive class includes four-star defenders Quincy Rhodes Jr.. from North Little Rock (Ark.), three-star defender Stephen Johnson from Fayetteville (Ga.) Whitewater, three-star fullback Ian Geffard by Mableton (Ga.) Whitefield Academy, three-star defensive end Caleb James from Mansfield (Texas), four-star edge rusher Carson Dean from Carrollton (Texas) Hebron, three-star linebacker Alex Sandford of Oxford (Miss.), three-star cornerback RJ JohnsonThree Star Security Christian Ford from McKinney (Texas), Three Star Security TJ Metcalf from Pinson (Ala.)
