Ari Boulogne, photographer and alleged illegitimate son of the great French actor Alain Delon, was found dead in his Paris apartment today, Saturday May 20. This was confirmed by the public prosecutor’s office in the French capital. Boulogne, 60, was paralyzed on one side and his death could have happened several days ago. His lifeless body was found by his 58-year-old partner while returning from a trip with his 21-year-old son. Boulogne required constant care and attention due to his precarious state of health: for this reason, the Paris prosecutor’s office launched an investigation into “failure to provide assistance to a person in danger” and arrested one person: according to the newspaper Le Parisien, it would be precisely the man’s partner.
Born in 1962, Ari was the son of German model, actress and singer of the band Velvet Underground, Nico, who died in 1988. As for his father, the photographer had never had any doubts: it was Alain Delon, with whom his mother had had a relationship. The French actor has always denied paternity, but Ari was actually raised by Delon’s mother Edith, who eventually adopted him along with her second husband, Paul Boulogne. A tormented life, that of Delon’s alleged illegitimate son: drug addiction, psychiatric problems, then those of physical health: remained paralyzed on one side, he had recently been hospitalized. However, his legal battle for recognition of the biological connection to Delon was never successful: in 2021 a French court rejected his application because the alleged father lived in Switzerland. Always evasive on the subject, Delon had personally denied him credit, as Boulogne recalls in his autobiography, “You’re my friend.” But tell you what, you don’t have my eyes, you don’t have my hair. “You are not my son, you will never be my son,” the great actor would have told him.
