Parliamentary session: injured, lost, optimists and dramatic actors

This meeting, which ended with a silence order, ended in the same way it began, in complete tension.

Instead of handing out notes to parliamentarians, I decided to recall certain key moments in political life over the last few months:

CAQ

The first electoral slap on October 2nd in Jean-Talon: François Legault's troops were crushed. The blow was so severe that the faction still has bruises from it. Bruises that make you scream in pain at the slightest pothole. Bad polls, dubious subsidies, poorly worded statements – the CAQ troops are eager to heal their wounds and get back on track.

PLQ

Without a leader, the Liberals are searching for themselves. The famed Cadet Pratt Restoration Committee has finally unveiled the fruits of its long labor aimed at giving the political party a flashlight in these dark times. As soon as you get it, as soon as you forget it, dust is already collecting, which was promised as an important positioning element. It must be said that the exercise, although apparently carried out with rigor and seriousness, did not correspond to the main mission, namely to explain what the Liberals are and should be perceived in the eyes of voters.

PQ

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon presented the highly anticipated budget for the first year of a sovereign Quebec. Conclusion: A sovereign Quebec would be financially viable. Viable does not mean wealthy, the PQ troops wanted to show what everyone, even most federalists, recognizes from the start: Quebec will not be broke when it magically becomes independent. It was still a dangerous undertaking for the political party, which needed to demonstrate credibility and consistency. The test is successful.

QS

The Solidaires have put on quite a show over the last few months. Between the race for speaker, the attempts to exclude Olivier Bolduc from the race for Jean-Talon, the colorful public appearance of Catherine Dorion and the deflated balloon of Sol Zanetti, QS was fragile, disunited and divided. We felt GND on defense is much more comfortable on offense. It appears that the last Congress has allowed us to bury the war slingshot…unless you are a man with ambitions to wear the orange sweater in the next partial election.
