Vienna (PK) – In its session, the Federal Council deals with the most recent resolutions of the National Council. In addition, a parliamentary poll is being carried out in the Chamber of States on the role of public structures in times of crisis. Numerous committees gather for meetings. Chancellor Karl Nehammer, among others, is being questioned by the commission of inquiry. Events are held to mark World AIDS Day and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 5 pm: The 2022 Camillo Award for Outstanding Paramedics will be presented at the Palais Epstein. After opening remarks by the President of the National Council, Wolfgang Sobotka, and an introductory talk by the President of the Federal Association of Rescue Services (BVRD.at), Erwin Feichtelbauer, and the Vice President of BVRD.at and initiator of the award , Clemens Kaltenberger, there will be a panel discussion . 09:00: Bundesrat President Korinna Schumann invites you to a parliamentary poll by the House of States to discuss the role of public structures in times of crisis. To start, Achim Truger, Professor of Socioeconomics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, will give a lecture on the theme “Overcoming crises and shaping transformation: the role of the State and public finance”. An exchange with political and business experts takes place in three panels before the leaders of the Federal Council’s parliamentary groups present their statements and the study is closed with the final words of the President of the Federal Council. 09:00: The Commission of the Court of Auditors will consider several reports. Among other things, the following items are on the agenda: Reports on the federal COVID-19 financing agency (COFAG) and the private hospital financing fund (PRIKRAF). 11.00 am.: The Labor and Social Affairs Commission also scheduled a meeting. Among other things, MPs will discuss an initiative by the coalition parties for a sixth week of vacation for nursing staff, which had already been agreed upon as part of the nursing care reform. An application for Caregiving Bonus for Caring Relatives was also submitted. The commission will also deal with an amendment to the Civil Service Law, which aims to increase the basic salary of civil servants to 500 euros per month. 09:00: Of The Federal Council begins with a thematic session with Chancellor Karl Nehammer. On the agenda are, among other things, the budget tracking law, funding for further metro expansion in Vienna, legal bases for COVID-19 vaccination reminders and a new book price-fixing law. Adaptations are also foreseen in tax legislation and simplifications in the electronic registration of companies. 1pm: Among other things, the Education Commission is working on a government bill aimed at expanding competence measures in schools. Another government bill aims to bring changes to the Austrian Foreign Exchange Service (OeAD-GmbH). 09:00: at the Justice Commission, MEPs will discuss current issues with the Minister of Justice in a debate. In addition, a government bill to reform the application of the measures is under discussion. Also on the agenda is a declaration of acceptance of Bolivia and Jamaica’s accession to child abduction conventions, the extension of special crown rules to the judiciary, as well as various COVID-19 reports and opposition issues. 6 pm: On the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, on 3 December 2022, the leaders of Parliament invite you to the debate “Challenges of daily life for people with disabilities. Between vision and reality”. After opening remarks by the President of the Federal Council, Korinna Schumann, and the President of the Third National Council, Norbert Hofer, Rudolf Kravanja, President of the ÖZIV Federal Association for Persons with Disabilities, will deliver the keynote address. ÖZIV members Isabella Aigner and Daniela Rammel discussed on the podium with wheelchair basketball player Philipp Hochenburger, Lukas Huber of the Austrian Association of the Deaf and Elmar Fürst, representative of the organization that helps the blind and visually impaired.
