Update: The airport will resume normal operations from 8:30 p.m.
Portions of Terminal 1 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport were evacuated Sunday evening after a bomb threat, the Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed.
At around 5:30 p.m., officers as well as the BSO bomb squad arrived at the terminal to investigate the incident. They arrested a man for questioning.
According to the airport's post on X, the departure entrance was also temporarily closed out of “considerable caution.”

According to the airport's flight tracker, dozens of flights from FLL appear to be delayed.
Airlines serving Terminal 1 include United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Allegiant Air, Alaska Airlines, Copa Airlines and Bahamasair.
Passengers whose flights depart after 5:30 p.m. should check with their airline for status updates.
