On Sunday, a woman fell from the 10th deck of a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. In a dramatic rescue operation in front of the passengers, the woman was saved.
The “New York Post” reports that the 42-year-old man fell into the water about fifty kilometers south of Punta Cana in the early evening, when the ship was en route to Curacao. The ship’s crew immediately launched a small lifeboat and managed to locate the woman in the vastness of the ocean and bring her back safely on board. According to the Chron, the rescue lasted about 45 minutes.
No injuries suffered
The woman, whose name is not known, is American. She was unharmed from the incident and required no medical attention after the rescue, but was later taken to the hospital for a check-up.

“The ship and crew immediately reported the incident to local authorities and began searching for the guest,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement. “Fortunately, the guest was successfully recovered and taken on board.”
Emotional roller coaster ride for passengers
According to the “New York Post”, the event was observed by several passengers. They assumed the worst. “After we saw the lifeboats and the smoke, I thought, ‘Someone just died,'” said Matthew Kuhn, who was on a family vacation on the ship. “Everyone tried to help and the team was very open to everyone,” he continues.
Passengers cheered as the woman was safely pulled out of the water. “It was an emotional rollercoaster ride,” Kuhn said on behalf of the passengers in attendance. The ship continued her voyage after the successful rescue and is scheduled to return to Port Canaveral on July 1.
