Luanda, September 23 (Prensa Latina) The aim of the project, currently promoted by the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and of Industry and Commerce, together with other institutions, is to create a “map” of routes to the cultural and creative industries Angola opens international.
Due to the lack of knowledge about their potential to promote social and economic change, particularly through innovation and job creation, the central aim of mapping today is to make them visible and to carry out a real diagnosis of what exists in cultural terms.
Angola is a country with rich and culturally diverse communities. However, the production of creative industries is focused on music, literature, audiovisual media, performing arts, festivals and crafts, where it is possible and necessary to expand them each time.
This was pointed out in recent days by the head of the Economic and Trade Department for the United Nations Creative Industries, Katalin Bokor, who also pointed out that the country must create applicable laws so that copyrights are respected and protected. Better the work of artist.
The map aims to improve economic activities in art centers and offer more opportunities to creatives, said the Secretary of State for Tourism, Hélder Marcelino.
Funded by the European Union and supported by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the project will enable the creation of a database to be shared with key government stakeholders, which is expected to contribute to the legitimacy of the sector.
One of the aspects currently hindering artists’ performance is access to bank credit, which is why institutional recognition is essential.
Another relevant aspect is that the information obtained from this survey allows specific training strategies for creators, according to their service areas and commercial needs.
