Patrick Huard reacts to the announcement of the end of the show La Tour – Showbizz.net

It had been barely a few hours since TVA announced the end of its talk show La Tour on Wednesday afternoon, when Patrick Huard walked the blue carpet for the big Montreal premiere of the film The Diver at the Maisonneuve Theater on the Place des Arts. with his beloved Anik Jean.

The actor has certainly not been at the forefront of the daily pre-evening meeting since the fall; Gildor Roy has been organizing La tour since last September, with the participation of his “neighbors”, Alexandre Barrette and Hélène Bourgeois-Leclerc.

But Patrick Huard is the one who launched La tour in the fall of 2020, moderated it for two years and gave the concept all its color. The interviews in the form of relaxed discussions, the spontaneity, the wide range of topics, the idea of the loft, it was initially Patrick Huard’s style, who then devoted himself to other projects, including animation from LOL: who laughs last on Amazon Prime Video. Luckily, Gildor Roy caught the ball beautifully and adopted the La Tour format, which already resembled him and suited him like a glove.

But as the creative soul of La tour, did Patrick Huard feel a pang of heart when he learned that TVA was dropping the program from its schedule for the start of the 2023 school year?

The prime prospect showed very little nostalgia when asked the question by Showbizz.net, at the premiere of Le Plongeur, which also launched the 41st edition of Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma (RVQC).

“Of course I’m sad. But me, when I mourn something, it’s no longer mine. It now belonged to the new gang. I find it difficult for them. Me, my grief ended last year. »

Patrick Huard says he didn’t watch the remake of La Tour with Gildor Roy at all and didn’t want to comment like a “mother-in-law” on his “succession”.

“I want to keep all these things intact for myself. I don’t want to be an aunt in my living room and say, “He shouldn’t have done that.” I haven’t seen the Starbuck adaptations or the Three Little Pigs remakes. I experienced something while I was there. So it stays that way and I protect myself. »

At the moment, Patrick Huard says he has ideas in development and is spending a lot of time finishing his lover Anik Jean’s film, My Mother’s Men, starring Léane Labrèche-Dor, Jean-Simon Leduc, Emma Lafrenière, Colm Feore , Marc Messier , Isabel Richer, Benoît Gouin, Benoît Brière, Anne-Marie Cadieux and Sandrine Bisson as well as Patrick Huard herself. The director hopes that her first feature film will be shown at festivals (in particular in Cannes, Toronto or Venice). The release date of Les Hommes de ma mère will be announced after the work has been selected at one or other of these events.
