Patrick Mahomes Sr. will be able to go to the Super Bowl as his bond conditions do not prevent him from traveling out of state, can confirm.
The quarterback's father, 53, was arrested on felony DWI charges in Tyler, Texas, on Saturday night. It was the third time or more he had been arrested for drunk driving, making the offense a felony rather than a misdemeanor.
Mahomes Sr. was being held in the Smith County Jail on a $10,000 bond. The 6-foot-2 former professional baseball pitcher slept in jail overnight and was released on bail on Sunday.
Now bail documents have confirmed he can travel to Las Vegas next week to watch the Chiefs – but he must remain sober and not have a strong drink while partying in the VIP box.
Mahomes Sr. is usually flanked at exciting Chiefs games by his glamorous daughter-in-law Brittany Mahomes and Travis Kelce's pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift.

Mahomes Sr. was pulled over during a traffic stop Saturday night at 8:30 p.m.
An officer saw his vehicle traveling west in the 1100 block of W. Gentry and pulled him over. He was subsequently arrested and sent to prison for DWI.
The millionaire Chiefs quarterback's father's prison sentence was paid for by Ace Bail Bonds – a third-party bail bond service that people in counties across Texas can use.
According to bail documents seen by , Mahomes Sr. is allowed to travel freely despite his felony arrest – but is prohibited from drinking alcohol or taking illegal drugs as part of his plea agreement.
He also must appear at the Smith County Probation Office Monday morning to meet with an officer and receive further instructions.
Mahomes Sr. will also have to install an ignition interlock device on his car – so he cannot start the vehicle without first taking a breathalyzer test.
The quarterback's father also has to undergo random alcohol and drug tests during his bonding period. He was also reminded that he must obey the law.
His bond was monitored and signed by Judge James Meredith on February 4th.
The Tyler Police Department said in a statement: “On February 3, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a Tyler Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling westbound in the 1100 block of W. Gentry Pkwy.” During the stop Evidence obtained led to the arrest of the driver, identified as Patrick Mahomes Sr.
“He was booked into the Smith County Jail on a charge of DUI in the third degree or greater, a third-degree felony.”
The Smith County District Attorney's Office told that Mahomes Sr.'s case is not yet in its system – but a hearing before a judge is expected in due course.
They said there is no timetable for that – and his court date could come after his son's Super Bowl appearance with the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 11.
When making felony arrests in Texas, it is not uncommon for bail conditions to require that the defendant not leave the state before their day in court.

According to public booking records, Mahomes Sr. has been arrested for drunk driving a total of six times – twice in 2012, twice in 2018, once in 2019 and now once in 2024.
He pleaded guilty to his DWI charge in 2018 and was sentenced to 40 days in county jail on weekends in 2019 and 2020.
After two DWI convictions in Texas, the third DWI offense is classified as a third-degree felony. The maximum fine is $10,000 and the maximum sentence is 10 years in a Texas Department of Corrections prison.
This is not the Mahomes family's first run-in with the law. The Chiefs quarterback's younger brother, Jackson, was arrested on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault and booked into a Kansas prison in 2023.
In January this year, three charges of serious sexual violence were dropped. A fourth charge — assault — remains, and Jackson Mahomes pleaded not guilty to that charge.
Jackson Mahomes' attorney, Brandan Davies, said in a statement that his client “did nothing wrong.” “We had every confidence that the truth would eventually come out.”
The original indictment accused Jackson Mahomes, a 23-year-old social media influencer, of crimes that occurred on February 25 at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.
Investigators said Mahomes pushed a waiter who was trying to get into a room where he was staying with restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn.
After the waiter left, Mahomes grabbed Vaughn by the neck and forcibly kissed her three times without her consent, prosecutors allege.
